FAQ

  • End of Life Doulas, or Death Doulas, are trained helpers and caregivers who provide care and support to the dying and their loved ones. They provide comfort and care, logistical and practical assistance, and emotional support – before, during, and after the death of a loved one.

An End of Life Pet Doula, or Pet Loss Doula, specialises in helping those who are experiencing the loss of a pet.

Pet loss is an experience as real as the loss of any human companion, yet it is often overlooked and not considered as “real” grief. Pet loss is also more often scheduled than unexpected, and can provoke feelings of intense guilt and loneliness. I hope to provide a safe space for you, in which I can help to create an end of life plan that works for you and your pet, with the surety of empathetic understanding and free of judgement.

  • The best time to get in touch is when you feel it is right for you and your pet.

An End of Life Pet Doula is a resource and compassionate presence in difficult times, whatever those may look like.

Whether your pet has passed away unexpectedly, you have an appointment with the vet scheduled, or your pet is simply elderly and you would feel more at ease to know there is a plan in place – no two circumstances are the same and I am always happy to hear from you.

  • You can expect a safe space in which to talk about your experiences, in your own time and without judgement. Your time will be completely confidential, and you will receive empathetic and professional support, both emotional and practical.

  • Unfortunately End of Life Pet Doula services are not usually covered by insurance.

However, it is always worth checking with your provider ahead of time.
